Let us enchant your senses at the shores of Lake Zell, every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. When the sun sets it's time for a special show for eyes and ears and plenty of emotions. Let yourself be surprised when light and water dance harmoniously with the different themes of the show.

Gorgeous Lights
Every Friday from 14th June to 6th September 2024
From 14 June until 6 September 2024, every Friday evening the event "GORGEOUS LIGHTS" takes place at the Sigmund Thun Gorge in Kaprun. Walk through the magically lighted Sigmund Thun Gorge and experience a nature-festival enchanted by colourful light and roaring water.
Open from beginning of sundown for approx. 2 hours:

Mystical night of water
01.07. - 02.09.2024
From 3 July to 4 September 2024 every Monday a very special, mystical and stunning night-time spectacle brings the Sigmund Thun Gorge to life. Parents and children alike look forward to a romantic, impressive adventure full of atmosphere when starting a guided hiking tour through the gorge on the Mystical Night of Water. Together we listen to the roaring of the water in the canyon, admire the strangely illuminated rocks and hike along the 340-m long wooden construction through the night – what a fantastic experience!

Zell SummerNightFestival

During Zell´s Summer Night Festivals on Wednesday in July and August, visitors can enjoy Italian flair, exceptional artists, culinary delights and popular music in the pedestrian zone. The Mediterranean atmosphere and the musical programmes give the event an unique charm and make an evening stroll through Zell am See a real Summer highlight. The event takes place also in bad weather.

Jazzfestival Saalfelden

The Jazzfestival in the Heart of the Alps
The 44th edition of the Saalfelden Jazz Festival in Austria awaits us from August 22 to 25, 2024. Once again, about 60 concerts in the city, in the woods and meadows and musical walks in the midst of the beautiful mountains of Saalfelden Leogang are offered - about half of them even for free admission.
About 200 great musicians from different continents and countries will take the audience into colorful and exciting worlds of sound, and with musical border-crossing, a lot of experimentation, openness and freedom will be explored.

Ironman 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun
01.09.2024
In 2024, the famous IRONMAN 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun, Bruck, Maishofen, Piesendorf will take place on 1st of September 2024. The competition is part of the world series and is known as one of the toughest sport endurance events in the world. Athletes will swim 1,9 km in the beautiful Zeller lake, cycle 90 km along the picturesque landscape of the mountains and run 21,2 km along the lake to finish in Zell am See.
Experience the race and cheer for the athletes - an amazing atmosphere is guaranteed.

25th World Games of Mountainbiking
05.09. - 08.09.2024
With altitudes between 1,000 and 2,100 metres, the grass-covered mountains of the Pinzgau Grasberge provide the ideal conditions for the competition.
GO TO THE LIMITS
The 21 kilometres distance with 880 height metres is ideal for first timers and those who race for the first time. Also rookies are welcome to compete in this distance.
You need stamina and a high level of fitness for the marathon. Rookies can take part in the shortest course with 31 kilometres at an altitude of 1,160 m. Anyone who thinks they can do more can take part in the marathon with 42 kilometres and an altitude of 1.980 or even choose the longer distance of 58 kilometres at an altitude of 2,920 metres. Ambitious bikers can push their limits along the entire marathon route stretching 80 kilometres and at an altitude of 3,678 m.
Spectators cheer on the bikers at the finish line as well as at the highest points of the route – on the Westgipfel and Schattberg summits.
KIDS ON BIKES
Boys and girls compete against each other again in six different age categories for the Junior Trophy. The Rookies can try the first time the new marathon distance of 21 km and an altitude of 880 meters.

Spartan European Championship 2024
06.09. to 08.09.2024
The Spartans are coming! From 6 to 8 September 2024, thousands of Spartans will face the challenges of the Spartan Trifecta Weekend in Austria.
The Spartan Race obstacle race invites all children, teenagers and adults to push their limits. The Spartan Race is the biggest outdoor playground for adults.
The first Spartan Race took place in Vermont in the United States. Now There are over 150 races in nearly 20 countries.
The different distances allow anyone and everyone to participate: There are the following variants: 5 kilometres and 20 obstacles (Sprint), 10 kilometres and 25 obstacles (Super), and half marathon and 30 obstacles (Beast). In addition, the Kids Open Heat with three different distances will be offered for all young Spartans.
Parallel to the race there will be the Spartan Festival that is provided for entertainment outside the races.
